Aux fan always on -350SDL
The auxillary fans come on at about 82C and stay on without the a/c on. Temp ranges between 85-90C. This has happened even in the winter (Michigan).
New thermostat (80C), radiator cap, proper coolant, fan clutch, fan, hoses. Radiator looks good without any damaged or broken fins, no weeping at the water pump. New aux fan sensor and temp sensor.
I assume that this is not normal...any advice would be appreciated.

RE: Aux fan always on -350SDL
one way to check if your fan clutch is working properly is when your electric/aux fan kicks in..your fan clutch should be working this very moment...meaning your fan should begenerating good volume of air...if not this explainswhy youraux fans are working overtime. Good luck

Yes, the clutch fan is working fine. When I shut the engine off it is difficult to rotate as opposed to when the engine is cold and it spins fairly easily.
Does anyone know what temperature the aux fan should come on with the a/c off..?

Auxillary fan always on '89 300e
I have an '89 W124 300e and my auxillary fan turns on even when the engine is still cold when I turn the ignition key on or start the engine. Hope someone can help me with my problem.
