Default AC replacement for '74 240d

Have a '74 240d, and original AC was disengaged by previous owner because even when when you turned off the AC, the compressor would constantly run and blow hot air into the car. Rather than fixing it (it was winter), he just disengaged it.

Since the compressor and dryer are original, I have decided to replace those units ( a local MB mechanic will be doing this because I don't think I have the expertise yet). So here are my questions:

1. The AC compressor is a York R210R-2013, and when I looked around the Internet I found many that are rebuilt around $300 (Four Season brand), and new are $700. This is my daily driver and not restoration project, so go with the rebuild? What are your thoughts on rebuilt parts vs. brand new?

2. Since, I'm replacing the main AC components, I wanted to see if there was anything else I should replace other than the Compressor and dryer?

3. To save costs, I'm buying the parts and mechanic will put it. He told me to also purchase a dryer switch. However, when I look online for the dryer switch, I really don't see a specific switch. Many part sites always just point to the dryer/blower unit, which I'm already buying. What is the dryer switch and what is the part number?

4. When I look online for the compressor, they ask if it has a clutch or no clutch. My car is in the shop, so can't look at it, so how do I know if a '74 240D has the clutch or clutchless compressor?

Default What about dryer switch?

I was also told to replace the dryer switch, which goes on the dryer, but I can't seem to find it anywhere with the name "dry switch". I looked on ebay and did find a pressure switch. Is "pressure switch" another name for "dryer switch". This is what I found on ebay:

SANTECH IND MT0928 Switch, A/C Low Pressure Cut-Off | eBay
