95 s350d rod issues
 

Can anyone tell me whether or not the 95 S350D models experienced any of the issues that affected so many 90's diesels ?
If so, would you think that an s350d with 126,000 miles on it might be one of those that may have been spared the rod issues ??

Currently looking at a 94 which had the long block rebuild out of Metric Motors in Canago Park, CA & installed by MB dealer in Texas. New engine has
had 22,000 troublefree miles since installation...
Also, a 95 with 126K and no issue YET !

The rebuild owner wants $15,500.00, (the car is in great condition!) almost pristine in appearance and getting close to 30 MPG on the highway.
95 owner, also in beautiful shape, looking for $11,500.00.

I don' think the $4K spread is worth the risk, unless someone knowledgable
out there thinks that the 95 should be/is/may be/probably safe....
I'm looking for that person's opinion, not their assurance...
