My first post on this forum. i am seriously considering purchasing an 87 300D with 170,000 miles on it. the deal is, i'll have to drive it over 900 miles to get it home (or have it delivered which is also an option). It is a daily driver which the owner has taken good care of and he said he wouldn't have a problem making this trip.

What are the things i should check before driving this car this far?I would have already purchased it online so i'll be committed to it whenI arrive to take it home. iwas just wondering if i should change the fuel filters, add fuel additiveor anything else before heading out.

any input would be greatly appreciated.

 

stop worrying mine has 280 thousand on it and i drove it 700 miles home with no problems. i would say wait till you get it home before you put any injector cleaners in because if knock all that dirt out it will just end up in your filter. just make sure you have enough oil and gas and drive.
