Can somebody advise me why my 300dt,1985,196000mi start from 4-5 weeks ago to fire in a mornings very hard now I use spray starter (I keep my car in garaje) I checked glow plugs,new glow plug relay.new fuel filters,new battery.Other wise after is started the car run perfect.Maybe is the ages?Somebody told me the problem could be the rings pistons to used? I dont think so!The engine running ok ,no oil burn in excess and gave me 28mi/galon.Cansomebody with experience tell me before to go to the very expensive autoshops?[>:]

did you follow that instruction and check the glow plugs already oldtimer?

always keep good maintenance and replace fuel filter on time.

 

When was the last time the valves were adjusted?

 

check the glow plug controller as well as the relay, ive had to replace or rewire a few of those. also, be really careful putting ether (spray start) in your diesel. use as little as possible, and NEVER sprak it directly into the engine. bad things happen.
