85 300 sd cannot adjust heat
 

Hi my problem is I had my mechanic installed a monovlve because I had no heat and now I have full heat out put and cannot turn it down.On a 50 mile trip it will roast you out on a 20 degree day.When I told the mechanic about this he said it was a common problem and that something had to be resoldered.Did anyone esle encounter this problem and is it an easy fix as the repair bills are mounting up on this car.

You can either check the actual heater control box for broken connections inside or replace the cabin and heater box temperature sensor units. I had to solder the control unit and replace the sensors on my car to get the temperature control to function as advertised.

I want to thank the members who responded I did solve the problem in that it was just a simple thing that the mechanic who installed the monovlave for me forgot to hook the connector back on.Like my father always told me look for the simple things first.Have A Happy New Year All.
