I was replacing a blown intake/exhaust gasket on my 83 240d and ran into problems. I've have the vacuum hose for the egr plugged with a golf tee for a while as i've seen recomd. but when removing the intake manifold the aluminumhosefrom the exhaust manifold to the egr valve got cracked. I've seen that people put a custom blocking plate between the intake mani and the valve but is it going to mess with anything by doing a similar blocking to the port on the ex. manifold and eliminate the egr valve completely.

also can injectors be cleaned or is replacing them the logical solution.
