I have a '81 300D that won't start sometimes. The battery will turn on but the engine will not turn over at all. It starts most of the time, but occasionally, especially after a long trip, it won’t start for a while. Any ideas?

 

if it clicks but doesn't start, it's the neutral safety switch both my 300D's did that on long trips until I changed that switch
