As you may know, i recently purchased subject vehicle. Finally, removed all 4 tires to find, i need to replace all 4 brake hoses and rear brake pads... i need some tech advise:

- any remmendation on brand of hoses?
- brake pads, i see all sorts of pads, which brand offer the best value?

while i'm doing this maintenance should I looking/doing anything else while i'm at it?

The good news is that Brake Hoses are supposed to meet specific DOT(Department Of Transportaion Specs.) this means that in theory any makers Brake Hose should be enitirely adequate.
In over 3 years of reading on the various forums I have read of no one saying one makers Brake Hoses were better than another.
I you buy your Brake Hoses at a local place they will likely be made by Wagner, Raybastos or some American company. However, that does not mean the are actually made in the US.
For Brake Pads I try to buy the cheapest ones that I can get local that have a life time warranty.
But, others are more picky than I am.

If you are going to install expensive Brake Pads they might last longer using the stock Mercedes Rotors (re-surfaced) or with a better Quality of Rotor than installing some $13 made in China Rotors.

You might find more info on the brakes in Mercedes Section for the Cars that use Gasoline.

thanks for the valued guidance in the matter. i'll hit local parts store an my hope iis to get everything that fits the first time, if i don't have to make a return trip it's a success no matter how long it takes to replacement correctly.

i'll take pads with me... wish me luck on the hoses. it's not too late, for other forum buddies to chime in... thx.
