Default 80 or 50 amp glow plug fuse?

I have a 79 300d that the glow plug fuse blew that is located on the firewall. Fried the box as well as the fuse. I recently just bought the fuse as well as the box but to my surprise they sent me a 50 amp fuse. I emailed them that it should have been the 80. Their tech people said they only show a 50 amp and they could not even get an 80 amp fuse from their supplier. Now I must say they were very nice and very helpful and I was willing to just buy the 80 amp if they had it. My question is should it actually be an 80 or a 50? From my recsearch it's the 80. They only 50 amp I can find about is the blower or I also saw something about a California spec car used the 50 for smog or some crap like that. This car was bought new in Louisville ky, with not cat I am 100% certain this is not a California car. Any thoughts would be great. I don't want to use the 50 and burn the box again.

So does that mean for my 300d it should be the 80 amp fuse? If so could I get by with the 50 amp or will it leave me stranded somewhere?
