617 performance question
 

My 85 300sd does 0-60 in about 19+ sec, dose the fact that I am running wvo slow it down compared to diesel fuel ?

It depends. Where do you get your WVO, and is it heated to around 150 degrees right before entering the injection pump? If your oil is from Japanese restaurants that's probably not the culprit. Have you done a Lubro Moly diesel purge lately, or service the ALDA ?( ala, dieselgiant.com with pictorals ) If not, that could very well be your problem.

I have a new greason.com, alias, mercedessource.com SVO kit in my 1982 300D T. I haven't yet timed it, but it's readily apparent that it now runs better than ever...Still,t I have done all of the above, as well as changing the timing chain and valve adjustment. I should have said, "If your wvo is heated just prior to entering the injection pump, and comes from Japanese restaurants, or some other place that only uses pure, non hydrogenated oil, and it's been filtered allowed to sit for a couple of weeks, and pumped from about 3 " from the bottom of the barrel, then the WVO is most probably not your problem."

Hi and yes the turbo wistles like normal,I should really put a boost gauge on it .filters are clean! car is a well matained

here is a quick and surprisingly accurate formula for your 0-60 time

weight of car in kg divided by engine hp multiplied by .9

so as an example my 1976 300D weights about 3600lbs

3600lbs to kg=1632kg

the output from the crank is about 84 hp so 84 multiplied by .9=75.6hp

so 1632(kg) divided by 75.6(hp)= 21.6 seconds 0-60 this is about right.

this formula holds true for every vehicle i have tried.
