Is the performance of my '84 300SD and '85 300SD normal? I find that until it gets to above 2000 rpm the car can hardly get out of it's own way. Once turbo spools up they get going pretty good. On my '84 I can actually hear the turbo. On the '85 I don't hear, just feel it although not as strong as on the '84. I like the '85 better because the transmission shifts smoother and more often so it doesn't lug as much. '84 seems like it doesn't downshift as easily as '85. just some observations.
