300D A/C - Vacuum issue??
 

Does the A/C being on affect the vacuum system in some way? On hotter days (80+ F) when I turn on the A/C, the engine seems to loose a considerable amount of power (from standing still) and the transmission will shift harder, especially first gear. As I get up to speed, it is less noticeable but still a harder shift and less power through the gears. I immediately notice a difference if I push the economy button on the dash. It is far less noticeble on colder days.

Is there something specific I should look for with this? Something that ties the A/C and vacuum system together?
