240d newbie
 

I just purchased a 1975 240d for 1900 bucks. It has 123,000 miles (maybe a little more, 100k more) on it. It is a California car and the body is prestine, but the car barely makes it to 65mph. I know that I have some filter and fuel tank screen cleaning to do. My wife, who is a wonderful person for letting me get another old car, was scared watching the back wheels wiggle like a vw van going down the highway. Yet, the car made it from Roseville to Marysville without breakdown. One question: is there a switch for the panel lights?

Well, the knob(s) on the dash did nothing to illuminate my dials. But I am fun after work getting to know my machine.
