Nope LHD MBZ is available in both in Japan. Also it is a 3L 6 which you can't get for love nor money in a 91 here. Cheers Dan

I bought the white one in the pics above. I can't wait to get it. I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions about it for you guys in the months ahead.

I have a 1991 300D with 373,000 miles on it. Original transmission - I have heard (and experienced) they can last pretty long with good maintenance.
