1987 Mercedes TD
 

Hi there!
My 1987 TD is been running great ,I did not started the car for the last 5 months ,this summer i want to take a weekend ride when i realize the car doesn't go more than 20 miles per hour,I removed the air filter no difference ,engine runs great but whenI push gas itsound like the engine dies(no power).Somebody said it cut be the turbo or blockage in the exost system (catalytic converter).I was wondering if anybody has a idea what i should start with.
PS .I check the turbo in the car ,after i turn off the engine to see if the small propeller in front of the turbo turns on by hand and he does,as well i removed the intake and when i push the gas ,the engine turns strong but comes a lots of smoke.

Wow 20 mph is pretty sluggish. I'd start with filters like Induction suggests. Also the diesel purge is a great idea if never done. One thing is you do NOT have a catalytic converter on a diesel, so no worries on that.

But it sounds like your injectors arent getting fuel, or very very little.
