1983 300D questions..doors, stalling...manual

Instead of the 1974 I was looking at I instead bought a 1983 300D.

Yesterday while driving it, I had it suddenly stall on me going up a hill. I managed to get it to restart and then it went into "hobble" mode and then once I pointed back down hill to get some fuel(the gauge read I had 1/4 tank but I figured it could be wrong) it started running correctly again and hasn't done this since. I put some injector cleaner in it and took it on the highway and haven't had any issues with it since then but I'd like to know what to check so I don't get stuck somewhere when I could have prevented it.

Something else that's puzzling the hell out of me is the door lock system. I can unlock the driver's door and at some point in time the other locks will open but I can't seem to get it to happen under any controlled circumstances..I unlock and it happens when it wants to(and usually while I'm not looking, go figure). I didn't get an owner's manual with it so I'm wondering if there's some special procedure I need to be doing to get it to work. And I'm not certain that the doors are supposed to lock automatically but if so, they don't do that at all that I can tell.

This brings me to the next question: where can I find an owner's manual for a 1983 300D turbo diesel? I'll accept a paper book or an ebook, I really don't care so long as it'll be accurate for my model.

Thanks

owners manual thru EBAYMOTORS.com The stall was low fuel and the tank sucked in air. Door locks are controlled by vacuum as you know, so somewhere in the vacuum hoses, you have a leak. Do a search for vacuum leak or door locks on this forum.

also change your fuel filters. if it's not getting enough, it can suck air and cause low power conditions.
