To see if it your Fuel Tank Screen restricted swap the positions of the Fuel Inlet Hose and the Fuel Outlet Hose. (Before you do this be sure you have at leas 1/2 Tank of Fuel becaue after you do the swap you will be drawing Fuel in from a higher position in the Fuel Tank. Do the swap for test purposes only.)
You do not want to do this test with the Fuel Tank Full. Drive without the Fuel Fill Cap on. I your Car runs fine like that your Fuel Tank vent is restricted. Clean out the Crankcase Ventilation Tubing. If the Blowby cannot escape the Crankcase Pressure acts on the Vacuum Shutoff Valve on the Fuel Injection Pump pushing it into the shutoff direction. Try disconnecting and plugging your EGR Vacuum Line to elimnate that as a possible cause. Do the above checks one at a time so you know which one had an effect of not. |
Do you know if this is a Car made to be sold in California or a Federal car?
