1981 300SD charging issues. 2 belt compatibility.
I have a 1981 300SD that has the two belt alternator. Can I swap that out for a single belt?
Next question;
The battery stays charged and I have no issues if I do not run the AC. If I run the A/C the battery dies within 30+ minutes of driving (car will not restart without a jump).
The battery light does not come on (it does when you key prestart). Do you think this is the alternator or the fan for the A/C?
