Thanks for the diagram. It shows that vacuum line goes directly to transmission modulator valve. How does vacuum control valve on top of injector pump affect shifting? From the diagram it seems it is not in the loop. Thanks. Ray

So the way I understand it, the vacuum control valve is a bleed valve mechanically linked to throttle. At idle the VCV is closed and vacuum is the same as the break boost line. As you push on gas pedal, the VCV starts leaking vacuum and at full throttle vacuum is zero. This is to mimic a gas engine at idle and under load. If all this is true why would we need the white 3-way valve on top of the valve cover? If there is no EGR, can I disconnect and throw away the white 3-way valve on top of the valve cover?
