Default 190 a/c stuck on?

So it's still obviously winter and my heat is on in the car. Problem is, whetherI have the a/c or heat on, the center vent is always blowing really cold air. Even with thevent closed, it's stillcreates a noticable draft. Is this supposed to happen? How do I fix this so it also blows warm air like the drivers side vent?

I was told it was some kind of vacuum thing when my car did it. Not real sure on that one cant u close off the center vent in a W201? Like u can in a W126?

Heat should never come from the center vents, only cool. With that said and assuming you have the system in the auto mode, warm air should be directed to the floor mainly, a slight amount to the two outer vents and an even slighter amount to the defrosters. My thought is you have a center vent vacuum problem. Do you have an owners manual? The climate system was problematic in that era of 190's both gas and diesel.

Yeah, but when I make a turn, I feel cold drafts. Plus it stops like 70% and there's still a lot comming out.

The manual is in my possesion. So if it were a vacuum problem and I had the heat on, would it stop the cold air with the center vent still open? Or does the vacuum work only when the vent is closed? How hard is replacing one of these?
