Cleaning velour type fabric

Hello All!

The velour type fabric used under the dash area and on all door panel pockets on my 97 W210 has become overtime, scuffed in some areas with marks. Any advice on safe cleaning? Thanks.

soft wire brush made for sued, lightly brush in same direction, vaccume, and brush again in the opposite direction and vaccume again.
