German Loremo AG will introduce their ultra Efficient Car at the Motor Show 2006 (site) in Geneva next week.

The car start-up developed a light-weight passenger car with outstanding aerodynamics. The Loremo LS is powered by a 2 cylinder Turbo Diesel engine with 20 hp and 160km/h top speed. The amazing thing is that the Loremo only needs 1.5l per 100km. This is approx. 157MPG!
The Toyota Prius hybrid has only 55MPG (combined city and highway).
With one tank (20l) you could drive 1,300km.

Loremo AG plans to sell the Loremo LS for less than 11,000 Euros (~$13,000).

Gas mileage is not too important to me as long as I like the car. Seems like the car is nice plush, and nicely designed with features but with poor gas mileage or they are boring, plain, basic and get great gas mileage. At least Lexus with their SUV made a step towards an okay looking suv that has good gas mileage, but I hate the interior (but that goes for most Toyota products, besides 2004-2005 LS430 interior). AND THAT'S MY OPINION! SO DON'T TAKE OFFENSE TO IT IF YOU DON'T AGREE.

And how fast must you be going to get that 157mpg?

But anyways that 1.5l per 100km sounds impressive comparing to my good old BMW 735i that gets about 12.5-13.0l per 100km when I'm city driving.

Somewhere an oil tycoon is having a nightmare about that car.

So, how do you get in it?

Hmmm, I didn't even think of that... but now that you mention it... uh???

That space in the front of the car underneath the hood allows a person to slid under neath and pop open a hatch. Ofcourse the car has to be going at a high rate of speed to accomplish this..... :D

Maybe there's a remote start and throttle. You rev it up and get sucked in through the intake.

Looks like there's break at the top of the A pillar. Maybe the roof raises up and the windows lower so you can jump in like a high school kid? Geez, that would leave me out. I wouldn't want to hurt myself.

Or maybe it only has a door on the drivers side.
