Although the Mercedes-Benz SLK was just updated for the 2009 model year, the German automaker is already at work developing the next-generation car, likely for the 2012 model year. The 2012 SLK range will include an AMG 63 model, which we had our artists create based on insider information.Although the new car will still resemble what we know as the SLK, the F1-inspired nose, as seen on today’s model, will be absent on the next generation. Overall, the SLK’s look is expected to fall more in line with the rest of Mercedes-Benz’ offerings.
The AMG version of the SLK could also be one of the last Mercedes models to use the company’s 6.2L V8 as the German automaker will look to smaller, more efficient powerplants for its high-performance models.
