upgrade from 1988 becker radio

Question upgrade from 1988 becker radio

i want to upgrade my audio system from the original becker system to a modern head unit is there anything special i need to know before i try to swap this out? i have a 88 260e with a separate antenna switch and fader do i need a complete rewire? any help is appreciated

Talking answered my own question

there was no problem switching over to a new head unit with the existing wires everything works perfectly. just twist your left speakers togeather matching positive and negative,same with right side.there's two hot wires in harness and a one you will not need just tape it off,the brown is ground and the separate blue wire in a black sleeve is for your antenna. hope this helps it saved me two hundred on install
