SAT NAV for a W211 system
I've currently got a CD changer and the standard cd and cassette head unit. Though I want to buy a SAT NAV model number BE 7039 Can anyone tell me if this would fit in my car as I've currently got a W211car year 2002
Also would the CD changer work in the system as well??? please let me know ASAP
THANKS

There is a difference between US and Euro spec W211s... Would be nice to know which one you have, although I am guessing it's a Euro spec (since it's a 2002 built).
Upgrading to the DVD comand unit shouldn't be too much of a problem in a 2002 built W211 E-class. But it may be tricky to get the navigation drive mounted in the trunk (that is, if you want to add nav. as well). Your car may not be pre-wired for nav. from factory... And the level of difficulty of the install will also depend on the other options your car came with from factory.

RE: SAT NAV for a W211 system
Yes I've got a Euro version. Thanks for the info however I've found out that my car I will need do all the wiring from scratch.Plus I'll have to pay for the software upgrades.
Seeing as the sat nav is a system I'm not always gonna use also having to pay for the yearly upgrades of the software. I really don't see the point in me paying all this (£xxx.xx) money for some that is a nice feature that I'm not always gonna use. So I';ve decided to opt for the cheaper and better version of sat nav. i.e. the tomtom were I can upgrade the software when I want. But thanks Bigsis for the info
best wishes to everyone and MERRY CHRISTMAS and great new year
