Default no sound from stereo system

I have a 99 clk430 that all of a sudden one day there is no sound from the radio or cd changer. Occassionally, it would say no cd found. I had read where the cd changer where it plugs up sometimes goes out causing this and I had the changer go out in the 01 clk430 convertible. I replaced the changer in the convertible and it fixed the problem. I have now replaced the changer in the 99 coupe and still no sound. the radio brings up the display and you can changed stations, but no sound. if you click to cd, you can hear the changer changing disks, but no sound. Any ideas? How hard would it be to change the deck out and keep the changer and speakers? If someone could email me at scott.t.fish@gmail.com I would greatly appreciate it.

I have the same problem with my C200 -02. Everything seems to work but there is no sound at all. Have you found a solution?

Default no sound from stereo

I did find out after taking to a stereo shop that it was the amp that was giving the problem. I found a good used amp online and replaced it and voila, great sound again. If you know someone that has a benz with the same amp, just disconnect it and connect it to your wires and you can see if it is truly the amp. Hope this helps.

I found out that the problem was not the amp itself, but the cable connectors connected to the amp. After disconnecting and than connecting them again there was sound again.
