Alpine IDA-X001 install in 01' E320

Hi guys, I've been on here for a while but havn't posted much. Really haven't needed to due the masive amount of info. But I need some help with this one.

My problem:

I'm bought an Alpine IDA-X001 for my 2001 E320 and am planning on installing it. I need to know what adapters I need to complete this installation. Part numbers, sources, and other related material would be greatly apprciated. My benz has the optional fiber optic trunk mounted changer and the integreated phone in the had unit. I'm pretty sure it is the Bose system so is there any special adapters I need to connect the new headunit to the cars factory amps or is the normal speaker out's on the deck gonna work for it. Also is there a antenna adapter that I might need? I do realize that I'm gonna loose the built in phone but since its an old analog version I don't really care to have it since the new Alpine has Bluetooth capability.

Please any help with this is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Eric

For your car, it uses the D2B system, and your factory radio would be the headmaster. You can install your Alpine radio, but you would need to bypass your factory amplifier because it's one the slave components that your D2B uses. Basically, this means that your factory radio sends out a fiber optic signal and communicates with your amplifier, cd changer, etc... If it doesn't receive this signal then it won't work properly. It is possible, but you would have to loose your factory amp, and use the Alpine's built in amp inside your new headunit. Or you can always get another aftermarket amplifier.

take care,

Did you ever get your Alpine IDA-X001 installed in your '01 E320?

I have a '01 E320 that I want to replace the headunit with a Alpine also but I need help with the install. What kind of issues will I run into. I know I have the fiber optic also.

Thanks for your help!
