I have a 95 SL500 convertible that the driver's side window works properly, dropping down slightly when closing with the top up, but the pass. window won't work (it is currently in the full up position). I've tested the window motor and it's not getting any power at the motor. Then by chance after I wiggled some of the top fuses in the trunk area it worked several times then failed - now I'm back to no power. Could this be the power soft top module? and would it affect only the pass. window? I will also try checking for power at the window switch to be sure its not the switch thats failed - but I would guess it requires the logic (and power) from the module to lower the window slightly when the top is up. Any ideas? Thanks! Corey

Seems to me you know exactly what you are doing. Yes, the top controller could be bad.
The switch inputs a signal to the controller, and the controller powers the motor through the fuse in the trunk. If the soft top is on the car, activating the top control switch should operate the window too, of course.
