If you don't have time to purchase the tool mentioned above, I tried the plug change technique in benzworld forum sticky http://www.benzworld.org/forums/atta...e-dscf1861.jpg
. You attach a loop of line around the plug wire cylinder. It worked well for me without damaging the wires. The hazet tool would have been useful in putting the wires back on though.

I just got nice tool that I hope will work. I will post my infor once I am done with replacement of my plugs. It is 11" Long Nose Hose Jaw Pliers.

The long nose pliers may not have the angle that you need to get to the spark plug boot to pull it straight out.
I bought a Husky 4-piece double box wrench from Home Depot for $12. It came with 4 double headed wrenches (8-9mm, 10-11mm, 14-15mm, 17-19mm) then used a bolt cutter ($20) to cut half of the 17mm head. The resulted tool looked and worked much like that famous and expensive Hazet # 2771. If you don't have a bolt cutter, a saw might do the job but it takes longer. I was very careful when cutting the wrench's head. The metal fragment would fly out at random. I positioned the bolt cutter onto the wrench, placed a cloth towel over before I cut so the metal fragment would fly nowhere.

Default i HAVE`THE SPECIAL 17MM BOOT REMOVAL TOOLS

DON'T WASTE TIME USING PLIERS THEY DON'T GET IN THE ANGLES YOU NEED TO REMOVE THE BOOTS.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO REPLACE THE PLUG WIRES.
THE UPPER WIRE ALWAYS GOES TO THE FRONT PLUG ON EACH CYLINDER AND THE LOWER COIL WIRE TO THE REAR PLUG ON THE CYLINDER.
ngk7090 plugs are undert3bucks
5years or 100k miles whichever comes first,so your plugs are due

I dit it. I changed all 16 spark plugs (Bosh Platinium2) and I have to admit, it took me almost 5 hours to do it. It wasn't that bad but it took some time. I believe that second time I could do it in 3 hours. I also changed engine oil Mobil1, oil filter and air filter. All part I got for $115.00. Not bad at all.

Default changing spark plugs

Since it's probably been awhile since they have been changed one of the easiest ways to change them and get another maintenance item looked after try the following. Take the valve covers off and replace the gaskets and while they are off you can get to the plugs a lot easier. You can also look at some hoses while you're at it since they may need updating as well. Took me no time at all.
