Default 97 SL 320 Convertible Top and Roll Bar

There are a number of posts that describe the roll bar switch and convertible top switch staying lit up after a jumpstart but none that offers a fix other than replacing the control module. Is there another possible fix?
A transmission shop recently ran my battery down and jumpstarted it and now I am stuck with not having a working top or roll bar. I suppose I could have them fix it but I wanted to see if there was anything I could do first to save the trouble.
I use the MBWork Information System software. If you have any tips of what I should look up in there to fix it that would be a great help. Also if anyone wants a copy of MB WIS/ASRA email me and I can mail out the DVDs. Thanks in advance.

Update: I talked to the garage that broke my car today about fixing it and was as nice as I could be but they hung up on me. Since I don't want to have to get a lawyer, I'll have to do it myself. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I believe you have to connect a Mercedes-specific scan tool and clear a fault code in the soft top controller. If you take your car to a shop to have this done, I hope you will ask them to report to you the code(s) the found and that you post their findings here.

I don't think it will help, but it's worth a try to disconnect the battery for a while and then reconnect to see if the condition clears.
