Default Transmission model number?

Hola everyone, I have a 1995 E320 wagon that I brought to Mexico from the US. I'm now having some transmission trouble and need to know the model number. Does anyone know what it would be? This will save me the trouble of finding it on the trans. and I'd really appreciate it. Also, can anyone recommend a really good transmission repair manual or general repair manual for this car? Do I need to get the factory CD? My mechanic here in Mexico needs some tech help in order to replace the B-1 piston, if that's what's causing the problem. Muchas gracias!

you have a 722.3 transmission. the repair manual you want is atsg. very common transmission. b1 and b2 pistons come out easily. you just need a press or special tool for the b1. b2 will come out by hand and with transmission still in the vehicle.

Default transmission number

Many thanks! I appreciate it. Could you give me the full title of the repair manual? I don't understand what you mean by atsg. Thanks.

ATSG is just the standard repair manual for automatic transmissions like this one. I think it stands for automotive technical service group, but I'm not positive. Whenever I'm going to do a rebuild, I always make sure I have one of these handy, in case I forget where something went. I'm not sure if this is against the rules, but here is a link to a place that sells the atsg for the 722.3: https://www.wittrans.com/showfilter....29&Section=150

Also, I have a link at home for a large pdf file you can download that has the mercedes generated technical manual for the 722.3. It is very similar to the atsg, and free. Let me know if you want me to find the link for it.
