Default 1990 500SL rear top locks

I am unable to open my convertable top with the switch. The problem is the rear locks. When you activate the switch the open sequence starts... windows go down and the rear locks start to release. Then it all comes to a stop. The rear locks will not fully release. I have to operate the manual lock release levers and then the top will open normally. I have replaced the lock actuators and lubed and excercised the locks... still no good. The locks start to release but before the rear bow is free the pump shuts down. I have access to AllData at work but there is not a troubleshooting manual. Is this an adjustment problem or a lock switch...or something a lot more expensive? with switch turned to the on position, don't start. short 1 & 10 for 3 seconds at the diagnostic port and count the flashes on your top switch, that will give you the code for your problem. the port is located on the firewall just behind the strut mount on the passenger side. let us know how many times it flashes
