Default S430 spark plugs

I'd like to change the plugs and the access looks really tough. The questions I have are:
1. How is the plug wire and heat shield removed? Does it snap on or just twist and pull the heat shield? (Don't want to break anything)
2. Are some of the plugs more easily accessed from the bottom? If so, what has to be removed to make things easier?
3. What is the recommended gap of the plugs?
Thanks,
Mark
