Around the world, Mercedes Benz has become one of the top choices in the armored automobile market, and to celebrate 80 years of making bullet- and bomb-proof models, they have released the S600 Pullman Guard Limousine.
This new tank in luxury limo clothing is engineered to withstand gunfire, grenades, and even explosive charges, conforming to the strict B6/B7 ballistic protection standards. Adding some extra insurance, the new S600 features run flat tires, a self contained fire suppression system, and a self sealing fuel cell. The S600 Pullman Guard still offers all of the high end amenities that one would expect from one of the top limousine makers in the world, from quality leather to a state of the art sound system, but with the added security features the weight of this limo rockets upward. Moving all of that weight takes quite a bit of power, and to ensure a pleasant driving experience for the owner (or more likely his or her driver), the S600 Pullman Guard is packed with a 5.5L twin turbocharger V12 engine making a whopping 517 horsepower.
The new S600 Limo is planned for sale sometime later in 2009, with the likely hefty price tag to be announced at a later date, and MB plans to offer many different options for the interior to accommodate almost every perspective limo buyer.
