Default SL500 Roadster ASR & ABS Lamp

I have an 1995 SL500 Roadster, just recently, the ASR and the ABS lamps are coming on frequently. Sometimes I will go for days without them on then all of a sudden they come on and stay on for several days then go off again?? The ABS lamp is not as bright as the ASR lamp?

Does anybody else out there have this problem or had it and know what the fix is??

Thanks,

JohnnyDishes

When either lamp is on, does switching the gearbox to winter mode turn the lights off?

When the lamps are on, do you loose power, as ASR lamp on is the way it visually tells you the gearbox is in limp home mode for the S/CL/SL made up to 1999.

Coming on all the time could also indicate an issue with the throttle module.

More serious is the possibility your wiring harness is disintegrating as mercedes in 1995 were still using their crap biodegradable wiring on the harnesses and there may be a short somewhere.

Could also be the front ABS sensor.
