Default Different Hydraulic Leak

I have a 1995 SL320. I had a hydraulic leak around the sun visor. I fixed it just fine. Now I am leaking Hydraulic Fluid like crazy. It comes out just in front of the passengers side rear wheel. I will lose over half of the hyraulic fluid in the resevoir with just one use of the soft top. It also appears to be slow leaking when nothing is in use. I have no idea on this one. Can anyone help? with all those hydraulic lines and components you got.... only by visual check tht you can know the source of leak.

tapas,
Use this link for the DIY article on this simple repair.

http://www.mercedesshop.com/Wikka/R129TopRelease

When you get BOTH front cylinders out (as it is highly recommended to repair both the fronts at the same time) you can send them to:
Mercedes Hydraulic Cylinder Rebuilder
Dennis Ficken
16285 S. Chester
Olathe, Ks 66062
(913) 390-0506

mercedescylinders@sbcglobal.net

Dennis has rebuilt hundreds of these for us owners, 1 day turnaround after receipt, 3 yr. warranty. Cost is around $35@ + shipping. Contact Dennis for details.

Or, you can buy new cylinders online or at the Dealer for around $125@ w/1 yr. warranty.

Bob

Dear Friends,

I have received the repaired struts from Dennis. I've also put them back in place. But I hesitated to activate the covertible top until I fill up the lost oil. I've order the hydraulic oil and it's on its way to my house. Could you kindly show me how to fill the oil? Where is the reservoir? I have the 1990 Mercedes 500SL. Thank you, all!

Your reservoir is under the spare tire in the trunk.

I just had Dennis rebuild my two visor struts and used stop leakpower steering fluid in the reservoir for the lost fluid. Only cost me $95 total and everything is working fine.
