Default which engine is more reliable/ better fuel economy?

hello folks, is me again. I am working in thye process to 'trnasplant' a mercedes Benz Diesel engine onto a mid size SUV AWD manual Transmission. I will like to know which engine is more reliable and better fuel economy among these:

1. 6 cylinder from E300 1996. non turbo
2. 6 cylinder frmo E300 1998 turbo diesel
3. 5 cylinder turbo from 1992 Mercedes

also, what is the horsepower and torque of the 5 cylinder diesel and posible fuel mileage on a 4000 pounds vehicle with manual transmission?

again thanks for your time
