old mb fan - new member. i am on my 11th mb. i currently am enjoying 86 420sel w/182,000 on the clock. in gas models i've had 73 280sel, 88 420sel, 90 300e, 91 300e, 93 e400, 89 420sel, 90sel, 83 230e(euro taxi) - deisel 79 300td, 82 300 sdl, 83 300sdl. theonly one i had any trouble with was the 93. the trans imploded at 175,000 (apparently this is normal). it's too bad it was my favorite, what a sweet ride. but $3700 to fix. as you can see i am most fond of big 4 door sedans. the wagon was nice and very convinient but non turbo so it couldn't get out of it's own way. i also have an 87 harley low rider. i've had lots of other cars, inc 96 bmw3 series cabriolet, 2 saabs, 3 volvos, several late model gms, fords, etc. (i lost big money on all the american cars, as well as vw passat and audi 5000) from now on i'll stick to my used mb's and maybe a bmw or 2. thanks for the help i've received already and will in the future.
