GLK Power Seat Issue
Vehicle: 2014 GLK250
Problem Area: Drivers Side Power Seat
Problem Description: Apparently when moving the seat rearward is struck an item underneath the seat damaging to right-side motor and/or retraction system for the forward/rear movement direction. The left side works but since the right side is inoperative. Operation of the forward/rear switch causes the seat to be canted unless the seat in placed into a neutral position relative to both sides. All other seat functions work except this right side forward/rear direction.
Poster needs: 1. A parts breakdown of the seat assembly, 2. a Seat removal and installation procedure, 3. any recommendations on best method to determine which part actually failed (motor, gear, cable, ect)
Thanks in advance,
Dan C

Repaired
So I was actually able to repair the problem. Not that difficult. There are 2 T30 torqx screws holding the bottom seat cushion to the power seat frame. Removing them and the cushion exposes the motor and cable shafts that drive the seat. Apparently the object that was caught under the seat dislodged the motor from its mount. The motor is secured by a tie-wrap. Removed the wrap and reset the motor properly and secured with a new wrap. Tested and all is AOKAY. Reinstalled the cushion and torqx screws, wallah!
