Where is best deal for oil filters?
Hi,
Can anyone tell me where to get an oil filter for a 2003 slk 230, i've read in the posts that chrysler uses the same oil filter as the slk's. I've checked www.getcoolparts.com, but the chrysler crossfire oil filters seems to be more expensive than MB filters. I'm not sure if i looked up the correct filter. MB's is only a little under $8 and Chryslers' is about $18. Or should i get it at the MB dealer?
Thanks,
Jasmine

Use the MAHLE oil filter (about $9.00)
http://www.getcoolparts.com/item.wws...41800109%2Ejpg
This filter is OEM and will work for a longer period of time, and use Mobil 1 oil.
I use the following proceedure to change my oil at home without climbing under the car:
http://www.slk32.com/pages/oilchange/oilchange.html
PS: the MAHLE is sold at the Chrysler dealership for about $24. The Crossfire has the 320 engine. You might call an MB dealership and see if the 320 and 230 use the same product. I don't know, the part numbers are different at GETCOOLPARTS. If they are the same, use the MANN FLEECE filter at about $19 on their site. Be sure to check with MB first.
Hope this helps!
