something to check if trunk floor liner isn't fitting quite right
I've had this 170 slk for about 9 yrs and I often wondered why the bottom trunk liner never seemed to fit quite right. I've taken it out to clean and kind of always fought to get it back in, I never noticed anything that looked out of place. I was pulling a bag of squirrel/bird food out of the trunk and rip it open on the trunk catch. A real nice mess, the seeds went down into everything. I took everything out to clean. I put it back the way it all came out. The liner wasn't fitting right still, it felt wobbly where the tire was . got to looking, low and behold some knuckhead put the spare right on top of tire pump facing up. the tire is supposed to go in first face down and then pump holder, which is also the screw down clamp for the tire, the tire pump then attaches to the screwed down tire clamp. end result, it's giving me a liner that fits nicely into place and gives an extra inch in height, sweet, room is at premium with the top down. check if you have the same issue.
