SLK No Start No Fuel

SLK No Start No Fuel
My wife's 99 SLK230 won't start. It has not been started or driven in about 2 months but the battery is well charged and it cranks fine. It is also has good spark, but it does not appear to be getting any fuel. When the ignition is turned to the start position but not to crank, I can hear a whiring sound from under the hood, if I didn't know the fuel pump was at the tank I'd think that it was the fuel pump. I shot some starting fluid into the aircleaner intake and the car started up for several seconds then died.
I have never done any mechanical work on this car so I don't know where anything on the car is. I assume that like most FI engines there is a schrader valve to check fuel pressure somewhere on the injection system, but I have no clue where it is.
We are 120 miles from the nearest MB dealer, so I've got to get this thing running, or pay several hundred $ in towing fees.

RE: SLK No Start No Fuel
Whine noise is throttle body .
No shraeder on 230SLK.
Loosen banjo on front of engine below fuel reg to see if any pressure with ign on.
Be careful
Listen for fuel pump under rear of right hand seat under floor in front of axle.

RE: SLK No Start No Fuel
There is a shraeder valve on your slk. if you look in the picture above. it is to the right of the vacuum regultor assembly on the fuel rail. the cap is "golden" color and has a copper washer under it. i think it is 13mm hex.

My 98 has the gold cap sealing the schraeder valve. If you don't have a gauge then at least depress valve while cranking and see if you have fuel. If no fuel, check power to the fuel pump. If theres power then probably fuel pump failure.. If you have fuel, then check for pulse signal at injectors with a noid light.. http://www.etoolcart.com/browseprodu...t-AST7872.html

RE: SLK No Start No Fuel
Well, I finally was able to get back to the car today. I checked the K40 Relays and the solder joints looked fine. Then I pulled the plastic cover off the fuel pump area, and had my wife turn the key to the start position. Using a VOHM meter I have 12.0 Volts DC at the terminals, also the fuel pump did "tick" a couple of times, so I assume that it is acting normally.
Then I changed the fuel filter, just because I was there and I had the correct Bosch Filter. Putting everything back together, I then cracked the Banjo fitting on the fuel rail and had my wife crank the car. No fuel at the rail, no start.
The only thing that is different is that now, intermittently a "wrench" symbol and -307 appears while cranking.
I don't know what else to look at. It is 120 miles to the nearest MB dealer and the charge to tow it there is going to be pretty high, I'm thinking of contacting the local Chrysler dealer to see if they will take a look at it, there are several Crossfires in town, so I assume that they might have a little experience.
Does anyone have any other suggestions?
