Hi my first post on here.I have a silver 2001 SLK 230 Kompressor that is showing signs of rust all the way around each of the wheelarches on the underside or where the bodywork turns inwards about 15mm.Road dirt collects on this ledge and hold water. I have only had the car about 9 months and do not want to go to the expense of putting on new wings.I would like to self treat the problem and wonder if anyone on here can give me some guidance. My first task is to remove all the accumulated dirt But would like further advice on how best to treat the problem.I realise that whatever I do may require doing again after 12 months but the value of the car just does not warrant spending thousands having new body parts and resprays.
