everything else seems to work but the remote will not lock or unlock doors..the lights flash but that is all when I press the remote. I checked the fuse under the hood and it's OK. Could a week battery in the remote cause this? 2000 SLK

 

FYI the switch on the dash does not operate the door lock either. The battery is good in the remote

 

The fact that the lights do flash, indicates the remote is working, and being received. Also, the fact that the dash switch does not unlock the doors, makes me believe the PSE is the problem. It may not be creating the pressure needed to activate the lock/unlock action. Also could be in the electronics in the PSE. Take a good look at the unit and see if you can spot any obvious problems.

found out my PSE had water in it and the board is junk....anyone know where to buy on other then the dealer 2000 SLK

 

PSE's have been repaired. However, it's part luck, and part skill. Better line another one up. There's no info out there for trouble shooting. I just used basic electronic trouble shooting methods, and got lucky one time.

 

Have you tried my method of drying and cleaning the circuit board? If you still have problems, you can find PSEs on Ebay.
