Default Soft close boot (close assist) problem.

Hi all

I've got a 2004 SL500 and I have the problem of the boot (trunk) close assist not working. If I pull/replace the fuse, it works for a while but soon stops again. I've seen a few threads abotu this problem and that it's caused by a leak in the air pipe, but I have no idea where to start looking.

Could anyone advice me on the proceedure for finding the lead and perhaps fixing it? I don't really want to start taking out panels to try and locate it with no clue as to where I should be looking.

Many thinks.
