I just bought a 2005 SL500 and found out that the audio system was hacked by the previous owner (it was a repo'd car) so that he could get the DVD to play. Now the Mercedes dealer can not access the prgramming as the hacker that the pervious owner sent it to changed the code. Does anyone have any suggestions what can be done? The stereo is reset every time I start the car so the static every morning is anoying.

The Mercedes service guy told me to find someone who can hack it again to reset it - otherwise it is a $6k bill to replace the stereo unit.
