R230 CD Changer Removal/MoBridge Unit Install
Just purchased the MoBridge unit for my 2006 R230. Unit install is complicated enough, but CD removal is more difficult. Can anyone help with detail instructions on removing the existing CD Changer from luggage box? Or, recommend a mercedes service manual that will clearly list (with pictures) the detail steps for removing a CDC.

Response to 2006 R230 Mobridge Install Question
Now I see why no response to Mobridge install post. First off, not much info from Mobridge itself (unless if purchsed from a reseller). Not even a recommendation of a local installer. Install instuctions non-existence, a high level brouchure, not car specific. Fact is must remove rear and side panels to access storage box and remove 6 CD changer. Detail instructions found on Startekinfo at $18.00 a day. AllDataDIY seem to be pretty simular. Here is minimal list of document numbers: AR82.64-P-750RA, AH54.00-P-0001-01A, AR68.30-P-7440RA, AR68.30-P-4750R, AR68.20-P-2320R, AR68.30-P-7440-01R, AR68.30-P-4780R. Just purchased panel remove kit from ECS tuning. A plastic wedge tool might surfice. I will probably have to use Cartronics instructions to connect up. Will attemp when weather warms up. Much appreciate if anyone can add any details on MOST connect.

I finally installed the BT/Ipod/Aux Mobridge unit into my 2006 SL500 (with factory CD player). It is pretty straight forward removing the panels (following tech notes above). Caution!! Instructions say you must take storage lids apart to remove. You can probably get away with removing only the lid covering the CD Changer. There are three components inside the lid. Note the locations, of each piece + springs when disassembling. You will spend more time reassembling this top than any part of the installation. You need 3 hands. It helps to use 3m trim glue to hold the pieces in place for reassembly. Note: the storage box is attached to the rear wall by two pins (screws). You must muscle the box straight up. Maybe wiggle a little as you lift up.
Take the plug out of the changer and remove the fiber clip housing(slips out of plug). All you need is the piece holding the the in and out fiber. Do the same thing for the fiber harness plug provided by Mobridge. Plug the system in and out fiber clip into into the MObridge plug and plug the system fibers into the Mobridge unit. Connect power wires and that is it. Phone and hands free mic is awesome. Only need to pair up once. Ipod can be controlled from menu. Can leave in storage compartment. Happy so far!
