96 sl 320 starting problem
I own a 1996 Sl 320 with about 60,000 miles on the clock. Its garage kept at a vacation home and used infrequently. About 2 weeks ago, we went shopping and when we returned to the car the engine would turn over but would not fire. Plently of gas, pulled and checked all fuses pertaining to ignition and injection and all were fine. Mysteriously about 15 minutes later it fired up and ran without fault for about a week. The same problem occurred about a week later. Anyone have any answers for this one? Thanks... Bill

if you only have this problem when hot and is intermittant, you should have a four pin temperature sensor on your water thermostat housing, check the opposing pins for continuity with an ohm meter, there will be a slight reading. if 1 and 3 or 2 and 4 are open, replace. they are fairly inexpensive through autohausaz.com
