I drove my 1983 SL over 300 miles to get it home.I took the 2001 Florida plate off it [last registered] On my ride I filled the gas tank first.ON the ride it started acting like I had water in the gas and wouldn't come out of it.I could do about 45 I drove 50 miles in a jerking motion.Like my first day of driving standard shift..It didn't act like it was misfireing but acted like bad gas.I stopped at a stop sign and it stalled and started right up I drove a ways and it started again.I shut it off and in about 2 minutes and started up again .I drove about 150 miles and it run perfect.I stopped at my friends house in Bucksport, Maine.No problem.I then drove 30 Miles or so to the coast and it started again.Any solutions would be appreatied.

 

I just had the same thing happen today, but I have been driving my 82 sl380 without any problem since I bought it last spring. I had it towed home. I am hoping it is a fuel filter problem. But you're right, it seems like bad gas.
